Cello Bow by Arnaud Suard, Paris 2000

Arnaud Suard is a contemporary French bow maker who has crafted bows for violins, violas, and cellos since 1983, producing each piece individually from start to finish with meticulous attention, using carefully selected fine woods and mountings in ebony with silver or gold. His vocation was shaped by an early formative experience at the Mirecourt School, where exposure to the stillness of the workshops, the disciplined transmission of craft from master to apprentice, and the elegance and precision of pernambuco bow making revealed the expressive power and harmony of the French tradition. Inspired by great makers such as Dominique Peccatte, Nicolas Maire, and Pierre Simon, Suard’s work reflects this heritage through refined curves, tonal sensitivity, and a modern personal style rooted in the lineage of master French bow making.

This bow retains all of its original parts and is in a good state of preservation.
