Cello Bow by Jon Hess, Engwiller 2025

Jon Hess is both an accomplished violinist and renowned bow maker. He’s studied music across Europe, and has performed as a soloist and chamber musician. In 2015, he trained intensively under bow maker Gilles Duhaut, followed by further refinement with leading French and international makers. In 2018, Hess opened his own workshop in Alsace, France, specializing in new bows. His handmade bows follow the French tradition, inspired by 19th-century masters and distinguished by a unique and personal style. An award-winning maker, Hess has received multiple international prizes between 2019 and 2025.
