Violin by Ada Quaranta, Cuneo 2025

Despite its youth, this violin carries a tonal maturity well beyond its age — smooth, focused, and exceptionally projecting at minimal bow pressure. Response is immediate and precise, allowing for crisp articulation through the most demanding rapid passages, while the tone retains its characteristic sweetness and brilliance even at the upper extremes of the register. Every note speaks with clarity and intent. This instrument is featured in our contemporary makers exhibition, La Forma del Suono, and is an ideal companion for emerging and seasoned professionals alike.

After completing her undergraduate studies in musical performance, Ada Quaranta turned her attention to violinmaking at the Antonio Stradivari International Violin Making School in Cremona. From 1992 to 1999, she refined her restoration skills with J.F. Schmitt, Geigenbau Machold and Roger G. Hargrave. In 2001, she opened her own atelier in Italy, crafting modern and baroque instruments that blend traditional Cremonese methods with modern acoustic research. Her prize-winning instruments are played and admired by musicians worldwide.
