Violin by Anna Arietti, Cremona 2025

Well-Balanced Sweetness with Power

Despite being a relatively new instrument, this violin speaks with a maturity and sweetness well beyond its age. It's full-bodied and expressive with a strong, sustaining lower register that holds up confidently even under strong bow pressure. The upper register is rounded and airy, with a natural ease that is free of harshness or edge. Projection is excellent, allowing the sound to carry and open up in larger spaces without any extra effort from the player. Together, these qualities make for a remarkably well-balanced and musically satisfying instrument that would serve an advancing or professional player equally well.

Anna Arietti (Ayoung An), born in 1991 in Seoul, has pursued music and violin making since childhood. After traveling the U.S., she trained at the Antonio Stradivari School in Cremona (2011–2015) under Pier Luigi Aromatico Fantoni. She earned major awards, including the 2015 Pisogne “Award Personality” medal and silver and bronze medals at the 2016 Rome competitions. In 2017 she worked with Edgar Russ, shaping her style, and in 2020 opened her own Cremona workshop, where she creates uniquely expressive violins, violas, and cellos.
