Viola by Alberto Pasolini, Cremona 2023
Resonant with Ease
This viola features a resonant, ringing sound with a rounded middle register and a strong, focused low end. It speaks easily, requiring minimal player activation, and offers a rewarding, accessible tone. Its compact Guadagnini-based design and body shaping make the instrument comfortable and agile, allowing easy access to notes and smooth shifts. Built with a two-piece maple back, it carries two internal labels identifying the model and its contemporary maker.
Alberto Pasolini was born into a music-loving family and developed an early interest in lutherie. He studied at the International School of Lutherie in Cremona, refined his craft under master luthiers, and earned a degree in Musical Instrument Restoration from the University of Pavia. His work blends traditional Cremonese methods with refined craftsmanship and modern insight, earning international recognition for tonal depth and quality.
