This Mathias Thoma model Cello is constructed on a Guadagnini model, with a solid European Spruce top, flamed maple back and sides, and solid ebony fingerboard. The instrument is finished with a reddish brown nitro lacquer. LA Violin Shop luthiers fit the Mathias Thoma model with Wittner Finetune geared pegs, a Wittner finetune tailpiece, and an in-house carved and fitted Belgian style bridge. The Spriocore/Larsen string combo gives this instrument a big, warm, bold sound with lots of color and nuance.
