Welcome a new era of string performance. With Pirastro's new Insula set, we present strings which feature a high-tech synthetic core that perfectly blends tradition and innovation. This pioneering synthetic core material has enabled us to replicate the molecular flexibility of natural gut, while offering the power and stability of the best modern high-performance fibers. The result is a very natural, overtone-rich vibrational response that fully unleashes the soul of your instrument with a warm, room-filling, and expressive tone which carries effortlessly even in large concert halls.
The unique design of these strings welcomes the bow to sink into them to create what feels like a limitless depth of sound. Thanks to their special material properties, the play-in time of the Insula strings is reduced to a minimum. They maintain their tuning reliably even under fluctuating environmental conditions.
A string for professional orchestra musicians, chamber musicians, soloists, and enthusiastic amateurs.
